Despite the crisis, the Government of GERB provides funds for farmers as early as 2009 and they increasedwith each subsequent year, stated Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov before reporters in the ministry. This year they are planned to receive BGN 120 million, which is more than the amount in previous years. During 2010 farmers received BGN 83 million, while in 2009 - BGN 79 million. Currently, we are working to relieve the tax for farmers, said Minister Naydenov. Notification on state aid to reduce excise duty on fuel is being prepared and, which will amount to BGN 12-15 million, he added.

I know very well the farmers and the arrangement they can make and today I saw very good arrangement, which I think is unachievable to their sector organizations. Both Sergey Stanishev and Kornelia Ninova have said protests will be staged,” said Minister Naydenov.
