Bulgaria can export wheat to Jordan and to ensure all imports of grain in the country. That was negotiated by Minister of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria Dr. Miroslav Naydenov and State Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan – Samir Habashne. They met with Prime-Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov. The discussed amount is over 800 thousand tons of wheat, for which they can contract for direct supply, said Minister Naydenov. Separately, Jordan has an interest in Bulgarian barley, corn and feed. At the moment Bulgarian grain producers have suffered losses and the price of wheat fell, so if producers have willing can take advantage of this opportunity. On the other hand, Jordan will have security for the delivery of grain. The aim is to be contracted a long-term agreement at least five years, said Minister Naydenov.
Minister of Habashne stressed that Minister Naydenov is very active and he works on the development of Bulgaria. Bulgaria has already started exporting poultry meet to Jordan.
Minister Naydenov and Minister Habashne have opened Bulgarian-Jordanian business forum, which held in Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Minister Naydenov pointed that he expects to be signed contracts between businesses of both sides.
The both Ministers signed a Declaration for cooperation between the two Ministries.
