The budget for agriculture in 2011 will be nearly twice as much. This was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov during the meeting with farmers from Region of Plovdiv in town of Parvomay. He said that for the first time an agreement with agricultural association for the amount of subsidies before the adoption of the budget framework in 2012was signed. The budget fixed for the sector in 2012 together with national funding amounts to nearly BGN 500, as they include National Additional Payments and State Aids.
BGN 240 million out of them will be under Single Payment Scheme per area. Financial resource of BGN 71 million under payment scheme per capita will be allocated. BGN 41 million are European subsidies, unpaid last year and they will be allocated and paid to the animal breeders, said Minister Naydenov.
Funds amounted to BGN 116 million will be paid to farmers under different state aids in 2012. BGN 70 million of them is again for animal breeders, as BGN 50 million are allocated to poultry and pigs sectors, which will be a priority for the present year.
Except these BGN 500 million in the sector,amount another of BGN 800 million of European funds will be paid to farmers.
The agreement that was signed yesterday and is not still endorsed by the National Grain Producers’ Organization, which is ready to sign it, but requires guarantees for two years ahead, said Minister Naydenov. He added that Prime-Minister who is Minister of Finance Simeon Dyankov also has not signed it yet, as he is abroad.
