Documents for school year 2011-2012 have to be submitted to September 30 in Regional Directorates of State Fund “Agriculture”. Paying Agency will subsidizes a maximum quantity from 0, 25 liters of milk daily per child.  Milk compulsory has to be provided in packaging for single-use. At the label clearly have to be written out its quantity and expiration date. The same applies to cheese, which are given to children in schools. If are offered sandwiches containing dairy products, they have to be packed separately and on the label to be indicated their quantity. Scheme does not support dairy products used for preparation of meals.

The aid that European Commission grants by Paying Agency amounted to EUR 18, 15 per 100 kg dairy products for the first category of quality milk and EUR 16, 34 per 100kg for the second category.

The funds for “School milk” are granted for the supply of products to Community. They have to be purchased, processed and manufactured in Member-State only from raw cow’s milk, which suits the quality requirements of Regulation (EC) № 853/2004.

In Bulgaria the scheme “School milk” is applied for the forth consecutive year. Its aim is to educate children in habits of consumption of diary products and lasting interest in healthy eating. The aid is orientated to students, who visit regularly schools and kindergartens.

Applicants for the aid must be approved by Paying Agency. Assistance will be paid only if applicants satisfy the conditions, laid down in Regulation (EC) № 657/2008.
