Poachers transporting 3.5 cu m of illegal wood material were detained yesterday in Rakovitsa neighbourhood in Berkovitsa. The forest inspectors seized the wood, the 4 carts and the horses and drew up four statements for administrative violation.
During the process, a group of Roma beat an inspector from Regional Directorate of Forestry – Berkovitsa. He was transported by his colleagues to an emergency unit, where a series of injuries were found. Serious damage was also done to the inspectors’ vehicle.
