Projects approved are under measures 121 and 312 of the RDP. Subsidies under Measure 121 "Modernization of agricultural holdings" amounted to BGN 9,954,951 61 farmers will buy agricultural machinery and equipment with these subsidies to meet the requirements of the Nitrates Directive. Other farmers are planning to switch from conventional to organic production. A small part of the proposals are oriented to building of greenhouses and creating plantations.
Under Measure 312 "Support for the creation and development of micro enterprises" 16 proposals for investment have been approved as financial assistance for them amounted to BGN 5,112,867. Projects for construction of solar power plants are prevailing. Another part of the subsidies will go to rural tourism development. One of the proposals is for purchase of specialized construction equipment.
Since the beginning of the RDP implementation up to now, more than 2,200 farms have signed contracts for modernization with subsidies under Measure 121. They amounted to BGN 585 million. Contracts under Measure 312 with Fund "Agriculture" have been concluded by 619 beneficiaries while the approved financial assistance for them amounted to over BGN 185 million.
