Information about the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in different articles of sliced sausages under the brand name "Tapas" distributed on the Bulgarian market was received) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food on January 11,2012, by Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). Bulgarian Food Safety Agency took immediate actions and made checks to detect affected lots.
On January 12, 2012, the Bulgarian branch of "Metro" supply chain with messages on its website notify its customers that was taking actions to withdraw the purchased products.
Withdrawal of lots is under the control of BFSA and they will be destroyed.
Today a notification through the Rapid Alert System for food and feed was received, with which Spain announced that during inspections no violations of system control was established and no presence of Listeria monocytogenes was found.
