Application acceptance under the new Measure 215 of the Rural Development Program 2007 – 2013, arranging compensatory payments for farm animal welfare, is expected to start next year.
This measure will be another tool for support of livestock sector in the country.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Svetlana Boyanova urged animal breeders of Belene Municipality to maximum benefit of financial resources for the modernization of second and third category diary farms, known as “guaranteed budgets” under Measure 121 “Modernization of agricultural holdings”. New application acceptance under the new measure will be done, explained Deputy Minister Boyanova
She reminded that the State Fund “Agriculture” would grant a credit with preferential interest to farmers to realize their investments.
Ministry of Agriculture and Food requested a redistribution of EUR 304 million under Rural Development Program as EUR 142 million out of them will be directed to Measure 121 “Modernization of Agriculture Holdings”.
Another new RDP Measure125, which purpose will be to finance projects for irrigation facilities, is expected to be launched next year. The budget of this measure is amounts EUR 90 million.
