Ministry of Agriculture and Food is developing a national program that provides additional payments for chemical combat against tomato mining moth, as well as a scheme according to which chemicals and other agents against pest used by vegetable growers to be paid. The funds will be provided by MAF and assistance from the European Commission.will be sought
"Bulgaria is an external border of the European Union, and this pest enters from Greece and costs much money. Therefore, Bulgaria will ask the European Commission and the richer member states to grant assistance in the fight with the pest, "said Minister Naydenov during his visit in Pazardzhik.
"Such a program is implemented for the first time in the country," added Anton Velichkov, Deputy Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency.
