Important issues of cooperation in agricultural science were discussed today in a conversation between the President of SAA Dr. Georgi Kostov, H.E Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Madbuh, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bulgaria and Dr. Saleh Atrash, Counsellor at the Embassy. The meeting, which took place in the Central Office of the Agricultural Academy – Sofia. Dr. Margarita Nikolova - Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy was also involved in the meeting.
After presentation of the structure, activities and major research priorities of the SAA for the period to 2018 Dr. Georgi Kostov higlighted important moments in history and prospects of agricultural cooperation with the Middle East. Palestine on its part proposed Memorandum of Understanding, which outlines areas of mutual interest for further cooperation.
Possible cooperation in the latest European practices and technologies in the agricultural sector of the SAA between scientists and leading Palestinian universities were discussed, as well as the training of Palestine graduate students from accredited institutions of the Academy. Particular interest was shown by H.E Dr. Ahmed Al Madbuh to scientific and practical achievements of the Bulgarian sheep breeding.
