There is no 36% increase in the salaries in Ministry of Agriculture and Food. This was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov commenting on the information released in the report about the state of the administration in 2009-2010, indicating that average gross salary of civil servants of Ministry of Agriculture and Food from BGN 777.02 in 2009 increased to BGN 1056.40 in 2010.
In 2009 the number of public servants really employed in Ministry was 383 with an average gross salary of BGN 1055.01, including additional payment to 69 employees, performing EU funds management functions. Only employees from departments, working on European programs, received additional salary to the main one. 1404 was the number of occupied positions on payroll at the Regional “Agriculture” Directorates with an average gross salary of BGN 701.19.
In 2010 the number of public servants who were really employed in Ministry (without servants in Regional Directorates) was 399 with an average gross salary of BGN 1056.40, including an additional payment to 66 employees, performing EU funds management functions. .
The real increase in average salary of civil servants employed in the Ministry in 2010 compared with 2009 was BGN 1, 39 which represents approximately 0, 14%.
Salaries of civil servants in Ministry of Agriculture and Food in the country are the lowest in the whole administration. An average salary is BGN 609, informed Minister and noted that the person who has made the mistake should assume responsibility. Data provided by Ministry of Agriculture and Food have been made correctly but were not correctly interpreted, said the Minister.
