From February 1, 2011 COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 68/2011 of 28 January 2011 on fixing the amount of aid in advance for private storage of pigmeat enters into force State Fund Agriculture - Payment Agency will apply an intervention scheme for private storage of pigmeat according to it.
Eligible for financial assistance under this scheme can be natural or legal persons who are registered for VAT on the territory of the European Union (EU). Applicants must have suitable storage facilities at their disposal with cold storage capacity and equipment, allowing prolonged storage of meat on the territory of Bulgaria. It is required the pigmeat to be stored must be derived from animals slaughtered for not more than 10 days, the meat must be of sound and fair merchantable quality coming from pigs raised in the European Community for at least the previous two months
Applications for private storage contracts may be accepted from individuals or companies who have been carrying on business in the meat and livestock sectors for at least twelve months and are officially registered in Ireland or in another Member State, and who are principally engaged in the meat and livestock sectors. This includes registered individuals or companies trading in pigmeat, or who own slaughtering plants and/or cutting up plants within the State approved for the purposes of Council Directive No. 64/433/EEC, as amended. Product may be stored for periods of 90 days, 120 days or 150 days but, subject to export, product may be removed from storage after 60 days subject to a reduction in the amount of aid for the curtailed period and proof of export to a third country in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 612/2009 in the case of products qualifying for a refund.
An application for a contract will not be deemed valid unless accompanied by a security equal to 20% of the aid amount to be paid.
If the applicant is participating for the first time under the funding schemes of the Fund - PA, filed a joint application for the registration form, which receives a URN of the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS).
Until a few days all the necessary application forms will be available on the official website of the SFA
The State will protect farmers whenever there are alerts about pressure or unfair practices that hinder their operations.
