Bulgaria’s Stock Breeding Selection and Reproduction Executive Agency will host a national forum for animal engineers.

The event will be held December 12-14 in the town of Hisar. It will feature the 2012 Animal Engineer of Bulgaria award ceremony as well as an international scientific conference that will look into the current state and the development potential of genetic resources in stockbreeding.

Over 70 reproductive organizations, experts and farmers from across the country have so far signed up for the conference. They will be joined by participants from Albania, the United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine and France.

The forum aims to strengthen ties between the scientific community and the industry, whereas the presence of foreign scholars will help touch bases in international experience, scientific research and good production practices, according to the Agency’s executive director Vasil Nikolov.
