“I thank to Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov and Rumen Porojanov as a Director of State Fund “Agriculture”, for what they did and which has not been done since 22 years ago”. That was announced by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who together with Minister of Agriculture and Food Minister Naydenov and Executive Director of State Fund “Agriculture” Rumen Porojanov awarded the first five projects for reconstruction and renovation of churches. These are part of the prepared 40 contracts and over 100 projects for reconstruction of churches under Measure 322 “Renovation and Development of settlements” of Rural Development Program 2007 – 2013 with total amount over BGN 41 million, noted Minister Naydenov. He acknowledged that for the first time he allowed to himself lobbying for projects under RDP, after Prime Minister have called him several months ago with the request to assist Father Nikanor to find funds.
“We built a lot of new churches and monasteries and we will reconstruct those which are hundred years old, to made them a monument of culture and at the same time priests to serve their worship” said Prime Minister.
The first five contracts of projects for reconstruction and renovation of churches and temples are under Measure 322 “Renovation and development of settlements” of RDP and they amounted to BGN 1 951 590.
To mid-November this year is forthcoming the finalization of processing about 100 applications for assistance, submitted by the local branches of the religion.
