Investments in biomass are the topic of today's meeting. The new Forestry Law regulates the process of extraction of woody biomass. It creates conditions for increased biomass production. For the first time Investment in Forests Fund is established and its funds will be used to build the infrastructure which will help to increase logging and respectively that of biomass, said Deputy Minister Kostov. Wood production can be increased, but it will happen with proper and sustainable forest management. Wood production can be increased by half a million cubic meters per year no more, he said further. Forestry Law allows the conclusion of long-term contracts, which to encourage investment in energy production from biomass. Conclusion of these contracts will be carried out by an open procedure, said Deputy Minister
