Minister Groudev officially opened the International Specialized Agricultural Exhibition BATA AGRO 2014 at the Stara Zagora Airport. This is the fifth jubilee edition. More than 200 companies takes part in this year’s edition .The exhibiting companies are spread over more than 32,600 sq. meters. The exhibition is of great interest for farmers, the number of visitors this year is expected to exceed 20,000.

 

Minister Groudev congratulated the organizers of the Bata Agro Exhibition for the idea this event to take place twice a year where not only the developments in agricultural machinery to be presented, but also these agribusiness meetings to have a chance to generate ideas for the sector and  this way effectively support the business in the country.

 

“For all engaged in cultivation of land is clear that agricultural machines are an expensive investment. Ministry of Agriculture and Food has its contribution to this imitative. The agreed subsidies under Measure 121 "Modernization of agricultural holdings" for the purchase of equipment and introduction of new processes and technologies are over BGN 850 million only for the past RDP programming period 2007-2013.”

 

Minister Groudev noted further that  we can have a more modern, safer and more productive agriculture in Bulgaria with the gradual and smooth modernization of machinery park with new modern, more reliable and high quality agricultural machines.

 

Minister toured the exhibition and was briefed on the latest innovative proposals in agricultural equipment.
