State Fund Agriculture today started disbursing the second tranche of the national complementary payments per animal head. More than BGN 25 million will be provided to the breeders of cattle, buffalos, sheep and she-goats. They will pocket BGN 60 per cattle, BGN 140 per buffalo and BGN 11 per small animal.

The first tranche of the national complementary payments for cattle and buffalo not related to production and for the support of sheep and she goats, to the amount of BGN 68 million, was handed out back in October when beneficiaries were paid BGN 140 per cattle, BGN 210 per buffalo, and BGN 30 per ewe or she-goat. Today’s subsidy takes the total 2012 aid per head to BGN 350 for buffalos, BGN 200 per cattle and BGN 41 per ewe and she-goat. Factoring in the resources paid out under the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), stockbreeders were backed by upwards of BGN 130 million in Campaign 2012.

Paying the resources in two tranches enabled farmers to plan their expenses. Each agricultural producer can quickly and easily check their aid at the State Fund Agriculture website at www.dfz.bg.
