This announced Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva after a meeting with Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova about the work and interaction between land commissions and municipal administrations. Desislava Taneva explained that after a signal from the mayor of Sofia, the Inspectorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food has started an inquiry into the case. “The whole procedure and all documents from 1992 until 2012 were checked. The competent authority found that there were violations throughout the procedure on the recovery. Some of the documents issued by various departments did not comply with the relevant laws and regulations at the time of their issue. The report would be sent to the prosecutor's office, "said Minister of Agriculture and Food.

Minister Taneva reminded that due to similar negligence in the work of land commissions the Law on ownership and use of agricultural land was revised in 2015. "The amendment empowered the Minister to exercise administrative control over the decisions of the commissions. The Minister may revoke a decision within three years after its enactment, "explained Taneva. She pointed out that terms for the property in Bistritsa village had been expired, so the only legal protection of the public interest was the decision to be declared null and void.
