Subsidies for BGN 6,501,638 have been approved today at a meeting of the Expert Committee to Ensure Transparency (ETPC) in the SFA. Project proposals are under Measure 121 "Modernization of agricultural holdings".
Agricultural holdings will invest much of the money to cover the requirements of the Nitrate Directive (Directive 91/676/EEC). With the money candidates will buy specialized equipment for management of animal waste – this way possibly prevent or reduce pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources.
Another part of the proposals are for conversion to organic farming.
When applying under the Nitrate Directive under Measure 121 the subsidies granted are with 10% more than for other activities under the measure, which encourages manufacturers to apply more actively in this direction.
In 2011, under Measure 121 "Modernization of agricultural holdings" were announced two periods for reception of documents - from 14 March to 1 April and 25 July to 19 August.
