Expert Commission of Ensuring Transparency approved 56 projects under Rural Development Program for over BGN 16 million. Another 19 projects with total amount of BGN 35 million will be considered during another two meetings until the end of the week.
Approved projects are under private Measure 311 “Diversification toward Non-agricultural Activities” and Measure 312 “Support for Establishment and Development of Micro Enterprises”. Subsidies under the Measure 311 are BGN 561 650, and under Measure 312 – BGN 16 148 265. Parts of the investments are in field of alternative energy and provide building of photovoltaic stations. Subsidies encourage the development of integrated tourism in rural areas. With another part of the funds a guest house will be built and already existing hotel restored.
The aid under Measures 311 and 312 is granted to improve the economic growth of rural areas by encouraging the opening of new jobs in microenterprises, which develop non-agricultural activity. The priority of Measures is to support rural tourism.
On September 17 another two meetings of the Expert Commission of Ensuring Transparency are to be held. Under Measure 123 “Adding value to agricultural and forestry products” will be considered 10 proposals for more than BGN 14 million. Economic efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises in food processing and forest industry will be improved with approved grants.
Another 9 projects of municipalities for over BGN 21 million under Measures 313 “Promotion of Tourism Activities”, Measure 321 “Basic Services for the Economy and Population in Rural Areas” and Measure 322 “Renovation and Development of Villages” will be discussed at the second meeting. Funds aim improving of living conditions in rural areas, as a whole. Investment proposals are for rehabilitation of municipalities’ roads, construction of water main and public development of parks and squares.
