”We are open to cooperation with Vietnam in all the fields of agriculture and food-processing industry,” announced  Minister  of Agriculture and Food Dimitar Grekov  at a meeting with Ambassador of Vietnam, H.E. Le Duc Luu, They discussed the forthcoming visit of a Bulgarian delegation to Vietnam from April 6 to April 9.

 

 “We have great expectations for this visit during which important issues of bilateral interest will be discussed,” added further Minister Grekov. A memorandum of understanding in the field of agriculture, stock-farming and fishery between the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will be inked in the frames of the visit.

 

Other issues that will be discussed during the visit are related to the possibilities for delivering genetic material into plant growing, animal breeding, biotechnology, as well as beekeeping and student exchange. "We have a very well trained staff in the field of plant protection, which can be beneficial to Vietnam," said the Minister. He stressed that Bulgaria is open to investment in agriculture and food industry.

 

Minister Grekov pointed out that Bulgaria can help Asian Republic for easier access of Vietnamese goods to the European market. Ambassador Luu said that Vietnam is interested in export of aquaculture, agricultural and forestry products.
