Qatar is interested in breeding and importing of lamb and meat production..This was announced by the President of the state company "Hassad Food" Nasser Al-Mohammed Al Fuhaid Hadzhiri during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov. Moreover, Qatar wants to develop grain production in Bulgaria and especially wheat, barley and corn, said Nasser Al Hadzhiri. Cultivation of cereals should be near the ports to be easily exported. "Hassad Food" is a public company that was created by Qatar Investment Fund. Qatar may take on lease state lands in Bulgaria or buy some from private owners, said the President of "Hassad food." He added that they work this way with Georgia at the moment and are now they are considering entering in Romania.
Minister Naydenov explained that Bulgaria has more than 30 million dka of farmland. There are many state pastures, which prepossess development of livestock breeding. We need investments in livestock breeding sector, Minister Naydenov said further. He even presented more opportunities for the production of rose oil, the construction of an incinerator in the village of Ugarchin, opportunities for poultry breeding, aquaculture, establishment of logistics center for the production of fruits and vegetables in Pazardzhik, as well as investing in the state company "Vrana".
