Domestic animals from risky regions will be checked again for foot-and-mouth disease by experts from the National Veterinary Service
Blood samples will be taken from domestic cloven-footed animals that are at risk of infection because of their location near the outbreaks of FMD – in the municipalities of Malko Tarnovo, Tsarevo, Sredets and Primorsko.The procedure is part of the measures the Bulgarian government has taken to fight the disease. The test are being repeated because the incubation period of FMD is 20 days.
Next week, tests will be repeated for all wild boars in the dangerous regions.
