Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov launched the grape picking in the vine massif of “Gulbanis Vine” in the village of Gorski Dolen Trambesh, Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa. This year we expect better harvest with regard to quantities, and better quality of grapes, said Minister. According to him Slovak and Czech companies are already looking for Bulgarian grape as raw material. The biggest interest is shown in white grapes which have increased its price to BGN 1, 20 per kilogram, while the last year it was BGN 0, 60.  

Until now “Gulbanis Vine” company has invested over 2 million pounds in creation of vine massifs in Bulgaria. Its owners are British investors, who work in British petroleum. At the moment they have about 400 dca vineyards and they foresee to create another 100 dca. We plan to build a wine-cellar by project on European Funds, said one of the owners Mr. Hans Kulman. He added that they have chosen our country, because of the grape quality and production. We want to return the good reputation of Bulgaria to the international markets, also said Kulman. Investors intend to export wine to USA and they are already entered into contractual relations with distributors from Las Vegas, Boston and other cities. The first consignment will leave Bulgaria until the end of the year, he explained.

The meeting was attended by Executive Director of Executive agency on Vine and Wine Krasimir Koev, and Executive Director of State Fund “Agriculture” – Rumen Porojanov.
