There will be sanctions for misleading consumers in egg sale, stated by Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov in connection with information about attempts for misleading consumers from the Food Safety Agency

Egg producers are misleading consumers by writing on labels an egg size that does not correspond to the actual one. Eggs have sizes similar to those of clothes – S, M, L, XL. Some labels read L, but actually the eggs in a carton are M-sized., the minister said.

The other danger is the use of outdated stamps, which are round and put in one of the ends of an egg. A laser stamp was introduced long ago. It resembles a bar code and is put at the side of an egg, said Minister. If an egg has a round stamp, this means it was not checked by competent bodies, its origin is unknown and you do not know what temperature it was stored in..
