Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Kostov met with Mr. Michel Esteve a representative of Gaz de France.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister presented the opportunities that the newly adopted Forestry Law provides for long-term contracts for the supply of biomass from wood through public procedures. He stressed that the law aims to achieve full transparency of these procedures. Fund “Investments” has been established for the first time and its funds will be used for infrastructure construction in forests, which will help to increase timber harvesting and respectively that of biomass, highlighted Deputy Minister Kostov.
Gaz de France Company expressed willingness to put forward their investment proposals to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov for cooperation with MAF and Bulgarian companies for the implementation of joint activities related to production and utilization of biomass.
