Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov determine the levels for support in 2011 under specific support schemes in diary farming on art. 68 of Regulation 73/2009.
By the end of 2011 will be supported:
- Farms in economically vulnerable areas in which are grown from 10 to 49 cows – with BGN 225 per cow (BGN 200 per cow in 2010)
- Farms in unfavorable areas in which are bred over 10 cows – with BGN 247 per cow (BGN 240 per cow in 2010)
- Farms in nitrate vulnerable zones, in which are bred over 49 cows – with BGN 205 per cow (BGN 180 per cow in 2010)
- Farms in economically vulnerable municipalities in south Bulgaria, in which are bred from 10 to 49 sheep and goats – with BGN 40 per sheep/goat. The scheme is new and it is implemented for the first year.
- Farms in unfavorable regions, in which are bred from 10 to 49 sheep/goats – with BGN 35 per sheep/ goat
The total financial resource under the scheme for specific support of diary farming is BGN 37 million in 2011- BGN 21 million in 2010.
Under the scheme will be financially supported total 153 268 cows (in 99 170 cows in 2010) and over 40 000 sheep and goats.
From December 12, 2011 until now, has already been paid over BGN 51 million national additional payments for cattle, cows bred for meat, buffalos, sheep and goats. In the beginning of 2012 will be paid and the second tranche for cattle (unbounded with the processing under the scheme) and under the scheme for butchering of cattle with total amount of BGN 18 million.
