After a notification sent by border police of Kardam Border Checkpoint for a truck from Poland, which according to accompanying documents must carry 22,000 kg of fresh vegetables, during the inspection performed the phytosanitary inspectors found 4 pallets with onions and 18 pallets with potatoes as onions were loaded at the end of the truck to cover  the potatoes.

At present, truck and trailer are sealed due to the lack of accompanying documents necessary for the transport of potatoes originating from Poland. Protocol that prohibits the import of plant products which are not in accordance with the current phytosanitary regulations was issued. The consignment was returned to the Polish exporter and was not allowed to enter the country. Polish phytosanitary authorities have been informed for the case the.

Documents required for the movement of consignments of potatoes from Poland:
A. Prior notification by the Polish phytosanitary authorities to Central Office of  BFSA, Department "Phytosanitary control";
2. Document issued by the Polish authorities for plant samples and results confirming the absence of Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. Sepedonicus for each batch;
3. Seal of the vehicle - Vehicles that are transporting potatoes from Polish territory to other Member States are officially sealed by the Polish Plant Health and Seeds Inspection Services.
