Center for Training Specialists in the protected areas of Bulgaria will be created under the program.
The Directorate of Nature Park "Rila Monastery" to the Executive Forestry Agency won a project for EUR 235,052, under which a national center for vocational training of professionals and managers in protected areas of Bulgaria will be created. Money comes under a project proposal of the Directorate of the Nature Park drafted last year, together with the The Leuphana in Lüneburg (Germany). The project will be funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt).
These days Mr.Ulrich Witte visited Bulgaria to serve formal approval of the project to the representatives of the park. He is the man responsible for international projects of the Foundation.
The main objective is to train young Bulgarian specialists in the field of nature and environment conservation. It is planned programs to be developed and tested, based on German-Bulgarian partnership. The center will also provide opportunities for innovative training in European standards of specialists from the departments of natural parks across the country. It will be adapted to the specific needs of the management structures of the protected areas. Experience of the University of Lüneburg in continuing education of professionals and managers in the field of environment and nature conservation Priority will be used with priority. The Bulgarian side will seek the expertise of professors of University of Forestry Sofia University of South-West University in Blagoevgrad.
For the purposes of future national vocational training center will be used the building of the Forestry Agency in the park. It will be repaired and equipped as an environmental education center.
