An interdepartmental working group chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Tsvetan Dimitrov discussed at the Ministry the draft Rules for Application of the Wine and Spirits Act.

 

It was agreed during the meeting that over the next two weeks, proposals will be submitted by government bodies and the industry organizations with the ministry amending or approving texts in the bill. In the next stage, proposals will be looked into in accordance with European and local legislation.

 

The working group is made up of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and the Executive Agency on Vine and Wine. It also includes industry group representatives Plamen Mollov, chairman of the National Vine and Wine Chamber; Silvia Vasileva, chairwoman of the Wine and Spirits Research Institute of Bulgaria; and Branimir Botev, chairman of the Association of Producers, Importers and Traders of Spirit Drinks. Chairpersons of regional vine and wine chambers are also part of the working group
