Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva and Deputy Minister Vassil Groudev held a working meeting with representatives of the Holy Synod. They discussed the possibilities for financing the renovation of Bulgarian temples under the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020. "For each of the sectors under the program there is a huge interest and projects submitted while the shortage of funds amounts to 4 to 1.The RDP’s sub measure 7.6" Studies and investments associated with maintenance, restoration and enhancement of cultural and natural heritage of villages "has a budget of EUR 40 mln, "said Minister Taneva and added that it is important an agreement on the draft regulation to be reached that satisfies all the interested parties.
The possibilities for financing temples, defined as monuments of national importance, and criteria for evaluation of project proposals were discussed during the meeting.
In the course of discussion it was agreed that the maximum amount of EUR 400 thousand for financing projects to be maintained. In connection with the request for the premium classification of cultural values with priority for those with national and global importance, Deputy Minister Groudev pointed out that this proposal has already been laid down the draft regulation.
