Voluntary organizations were involved in the spring trees planting on the territory of the State Forestry Enterprise- Sofia. Traditionally, representatives of DG “Fire Safety and Protection of Population” are among the most active participants. 35 firemen and young firefighters planted about 6 dca of pine crops in the area of "Ophelia" within Vitosha Natural Park.
Representatives of Sofia Inspectorate also participated in planting of saplings. They planted trees in the "Dulgo Pole" area of the forest industrial sector - Kremikovtzi. An area of 3 dca was planted with red oak crops.
A group of 55 volunteers planted nearly 10 dca with spruce. They work in different sectors of Vitosha Natural Park.
Their example was followed also by many other volunteers who carried out the completion of two years old crops of white pine and mountain ash planted over an area of 4 dca on the territory of the forest industrial sector - Novi Iskar.
Officials from the State Forestry Enterprise- Sofia.and Vitosha Natural Park define beforehand, prepare and clean places for planting and forest filling, provide expert assistance and saplings and support for the implementation of initiatives.
Volunteers’ afforestation is becoming tradition and each year there is an increase in the number of volunteers.
