One of the priorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food is to limit illegal logging therefore the ministry follows a package of different measures to tackle the problem as spelled out in the Government’s Program Declaration.

The first measure is related to the transport of timber and implementation of an electronic system for recording moving vehicles loaded with timber. Another measure aimed at violations committed in the forests. This part provides for an increase of the internal control of state forest enterprises through the release of additional human and financial resources. The third measure concerns strengthened control at the endpoints.
