Additional measures will be adopted to ensure safe hunting, including a ban on the sale of pellets over a certain size, minister of agriculture and food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov said.

Speaking in Vitinya state-run hunting estate, where he demonstrated the hunting safety rules, the minister noted that the use of pellets is among the main causes of hunting accidents. Whereas pellets are prohibited in wild boar and big game hunting, their sale is not outlawed.

Five mobile groups will be formed and equipped with up-to-date devices and night vision glasses at the Executive Forest Agency to tighten control.

Minister Naydenov made a gun testing demonstration and called on hunters to strictly follow the golden safety rules in order to curb accidents and fatalities.
