Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov announced in the town of Isperich, that until the end of the month the remaining BGN 35 million will be granted to tobacco producers. This is the second tranche of BGN 70 million provided by the government.
Minister urged tobacco producers to unite. He met with them and other farmers from the Region of Isperich. European Commission intends during the new programming period after 2014, producers’ association to distribute state aid in different sectors of agriculture. There are no such kinds of associations in Bulgaria, said Minister. According to him, in this situation after 2014 we can lose money, because there will be no one to distribute them, said Minister.
Additionally producers, who take part in association can negotiate lower prices of fuels, chemicals etc. Minister Naydenov also stressed that European funds are allocated to 100% to support association, offices, equipment etc. While you still remain small farmers you have no opportunities to fight against traders, resellers and commercial chains, explained Minister
