Minister of Agriculture and Food ordered intensiveinspections of food to be carried out during the holidays on the occasion of the National Day celebration - March 3.
Inspections will be carried out by the Regional Offices of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency throughout the country, focusing on places like ski resorts where a greater flow of tourists is expected.
Restaurants and other public catering establishments, including hotels will be inspected.
Inspections at shops and supply stores will be made permanent, but given the greater consumption expected during the weekend, their intensity will be also increased, announced from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency .
Many traders try to sell poor quality products exactly during holidays. There are numerous signals for violations of hygienic and sanitary standards already filed in the Agency.
