From the beginning of the checks for the legality of transporting and selling Christmas trees in the country, forest inspectors have detained over 670 non-originating trees. There were Identified 9 infringements for which have been composed seven acts of administrative violations, under which will be issued penal ordinance for fines. About two of the violations were issued inspection reports, under which is done additional investigation. 3 vehicles loaded up with illegal trees, were detained.

The most common violations were lack of documentation required for extraction and transportation, or inaccuracies in  the filling. Another irregularity is the transportation of more Christmas trees than those described in the documentation.

Forest inspectors from Regional Directorates of Forestry Sofia and Pazardzhik have found the most violations.

Executive Forestry Agency (EFA) continues the control for logging, transport and sale of Christmas trees. Forest inspectors from the agency and the Regional Forest Directorates carry out constant monitoring in accordance with indications, issued by Executive Forest Agency. They are related to the campaign for production of Christmas trees, pine green and cornel columns. There are also checks, joint with Ministry of Interior and National Revenue Agency.
