Minister of Agriculture and Food, Vassil Groudev, met with representatives of organisations from the fruit and vegetable sector at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Coupled support in the new programming period is one of the mechanisms to support vulnerable sectors, but not a panacea for solving sector problems. Horticultural sector is one of the vulnerable ones and will be included in the package of coupled support."
He stressed that an analysis of vulnerable sectors is being conducted and by the end of the year the Government will be able to make partial adjustments of financial assistance by sector, without changing the support schemes.
Minister Groudev pointed out that agricultural sector is important because the country produces high quality products.
Participants in the meeting were clear that constructive dialogue with the ministry’s team will contribute for the stabilization of the sector.
