"Bulgaria will provide to Jordan equipment for a laboratory for pesticides and will help as well as support in the training of experts to perform pesticide tests of fruit and vegetables, announced Agriculture Minister and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov after a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Samir al-Habashneh in Amman.

Minister Naydenov assured his Jordanian counterpart that our country is willing to solve the problems with vegetable imports from the Hashemite Kingdom. In his words, building reliable laboratories would ensure quality exports of agricultural production from Jordan to the EU countries.

In this connection, the two Ministers agreed also to prepare“Golden list of firms”, guaranteeing quality agricultural products for import to the EU. Minister Naydenov hoped with these measures the entry of Jordan products in negative list under Regulation № 669 /EU to be avoided and added that thus Jordanian vegetables will enter freely the EU market.

Minister Naydenov announced that our country will donate 100 fallow deer to the Royal Hunting Club for the improvement of biodiversity in the Jordan hunting holdings.

In his turn, Minister Habashneh proposed a Bulgarian-Jordanian Farming Committee to be established in order to intensify the bilateral relations in the sector. Minister Naydenov accepted proposal highlighting that thereto 60 members’ business delegation is accompanying him, which proves the interest Bulgarian entrepreneurs to Jordan. He also urged the investment activity between tow countries to be strengthened.
