“I want to assure you that the state has taken all necessary measures to protect people's lives and their property,” Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva said after a meeting held in the building of the Regional Administration in Yambol with the Regional Governor Dimitar Ivanov and other members of the Crisis Staff formed in the region over floods.
Minister Taneva urged citizens to follow the instructions for evacuation if necessary. "It is in the name of protecting the health and life of citizens. So far, what has been imposed as evacuation measure was carried out smoothly," Desislava Taneva said. She assured farmers whose areas are flooded that they will receive state aid for landslide areas. According to the Minister, the affected areas are located in Yambol and Sliven region. Agriculture Regional Directorates have issued orders for the formation of property damage committees.
The Agriculture Ministry, if necessary, is ready to provide more human resources from the system of forest enterprises, which in case of disaster and complex situations have repeatedly proved assistance.
