For the period from 14 to 25 November 2011, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency carried out a total of 7637official control inspections at the premises of retail and catering, manufacturing plants and warehouses for storage and food trade.

Total number of prescriptions issued - 617;
Total number of acts of administrative violations issued - 225;
Number of closed establishments / establishments with suspended activity - 17 ;
Amount of prohibited and discarded products - 785.17 kg..

The most common violations are associated with improper document keeping for self control system, lack of commercial documents without the presence of food labels, expired validity date, non-observance of temperature regime of storage, poor hygiene.
