The Ministry of Agriculture and Food will stage the first 2013 presentation of the Rural Development Programme at an international folklore festival that will take place on January 12 in the town of Simitli.

More than 2,000 kukers -- costumed men performing a traditional ritual to scare away evil spirits -- will gather from across the country and abroad for the eight consecutive year, starting off with a parade early in the morning that will end in the town’s stadium where the original dances will be performed. The event traditionally gathers more than 10,000 guests each year.

The ministry’s experts will present at the mobile information centre the application opportunities available through the programme as well as the provided investment and financing.
