Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov opened a new fruit processing plant “Ekovita” in Pazardzhik. Investment for the purchase of new machinery, equipment and reconstruction of the plant that freezes fruit is implemented under Measure 123"Adding value to agricultural and forestry products" of the Rural Development Program 2007-2013 and amounted to BGN 3 109 713.
The total budget of Measure 123 amounts to EUR 241 million for the whole programming period. Additional financial resource under the Measure for projects related to new challenges under the European Economic Recovery Plan (EERP) amounts to EUR 2.2 million. Eligible investments are in connection with creating new or modernizing of micro, small and medium enterprises, incl. etc. intermediate establishments in the processing of dairy products, meat and meat products, fruits and vegetables, including mushrooms, honey, cereals, wine, industrial crops and others.
Investment projects of micro enterprises in the forestry sector for wood processing and furniture manufacturing are also supported under the Measure.
