Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov has talked with Georgia Mpazoti, Secretary General Agricultural Policy in the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, about the border blockade at Promachonas-Kulata border checkpoint. Minister Naydenov did not manage to talk with his Greek counterpart Konstantinos Skandalidis, who has headed to the protesting farmers. The two ministers are expected to have a telephone conversation tomorrow. Minister Naydenov expressed Bulgaria’s concern about the vehicular traffic over the border.
“Blocking the border checkpoint is another burden in times of the economic crisis and rising food prices,” said the Bulgarian minister.
The Greek official Mrs.Mpazoti assured that the Greek government was dealing with the issue, and added that no escalation would be allowed.
