Water resource, at country’s disposal, should be used at the most rational and effective way. This can be achieved with a good balance between hydro meliorations and farmers, who use this service. That was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Tsvetan Dimitrov during a meeting with farmers from the District of Sliven. Ministry of Agriculture and Food prepares for the net irrigating season a new methodology for determination of service price of “water supply for irrigation”, said Harizan Tamahkyarov, Director of “Hydromeliorations” Directorate in MAF. A new methodology will propose price in BGN/dca for the accomplished single irrigation and price in BGN/dca per season for irrigation of crops throughout the whole irrigation season. The price in BGN per cubic meter will be used only in cases of pump irrigation and in the presence of existing water-metering devices, he also said.
Deputy Minister Dimitrov assured the presents that developing and preparation of the new methodology will be coordinate with branch organizations before its approval. The meeting was attended by Chairman of Agriculture and Forestry Committee to the National Assembly of Republic of Bulgaria Mrs. Desislava Taneva, as well as Governor of Sliven Mr. Marin Kavrakov.
