Spain has an operating body for food prices monitoring and we are ready to share our experience with Bulgaria, said Spanish Minister of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs Rosa Aguilar at a meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov,.
Minister Naydenov told his Spanish counterpart about the Bulgarian government’s plans to set up a body that would monitor the prices of the main products starting from a raw material to a shop.
Ms Aguilar said Spain had a similar institution within the agriculture ministry. The body provides the Spanish government every day with information about the food prices. In case of a discrepancy, the government takes measures to warn the respective industry and seek the correct way for solving the problems.
Ms. Aguilar informed Minister Naydenov that Spain is the only EU country with the laws for rural areas, which provides certain incentives for people to remain living in these areas. She suggested the country to share its experience in this direction with our administration.
