More than BGN 34 million is already transferred to accounts of 30 132 tobacco producers. The funds are part of the second tranche of subsidy under National additional payment scheme for tobacco. That said Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov during the joint meeting with Minister of Labour and Social Policy Totyu Mladenov and farmers from Kaolinovo. Minister Naydenov reminded that the first tranche was paid on May 2011 and he stressed that the next year for the sector are provided BGN 73 million.

During the meeting the President of Association of tobacco growers Tsvetan Filev thanked on behalf of tobacco producers for the promise realization from the government side and for paid funds. Minister Naydenov said that tobacco sector will be supported in future, despite reservation of European Union, because in Bulgaria there is a market for Bulgarian tobacco.

“Problems for which are gathered here are agricultural and social, therefore we are both here, to find the solution to the employment of people from the region” said Minister Naydenov. He added that the government’s purpose is to employ young people in agriculture, so that they don’t wait for social assistance. Rural Development program can help for the creation of working places for people in the region.
