Yesterday night, inspectors of the Regional Directorate for Food Safety - Blagoevgrad, seized one ton pig and heads and offal at "Kulata" Border Checkpoint. The meat was carried in several buses. During the check made by the agency's experts it has been established that the pork meat is without the necessary accompanying documents. It was scrapped and will be destroyed in an incinerator. A statement was issued to the offenders.
In connection with frequent attempts of violations in trading with food, supplied throughout the country, Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has strengthened control over incorrect labelling of foods, as well as food products with expired dates, organizing 24-hours duties.
