Barley harvest campaign is near the end. To 15.07.2011, a total of 1, 77 millions decares
or 97, 32% have been harvested from the areas sown with barley, according to data, made by “Plant-growing” Directorate  to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The total production amounted to 670 000 tons at average yield of 378 kg/dca

Based on data of National Grain and Forage Service, the main quality indexes of barley, 2011 crop are with the following values: contents of proteins 11, 2%, and hectoliter – 65, 2%, equalizer 74, 1%, humidity – 11, 5%, crop admixtures 1, 8 % and another one – 0, 9%.
225 samples amounted to 114 670 tons have been analyzed by the National Grain and Forage Service, as the observed grain quality is relatively good. There were no barley batches, containing defective grains.

According to preliminary data the highest yields have been registered in the regions of Silistra (440 kg/dca), Dobrich (463 kg/dca), Razgrad (420 kg /dca); Pleven (415 kg/ dca) and Montana (391 kg/ dca).

Sunken acres sown with barley for country amounts totally to 3 352 decares

Last year an average yield of harvested acres amounted to 339, 7 kg from 2,45 dca.

The total amount of produced barley in 2010 was 833 000 tons.
