"This is not because of this incident, but due to the fact that when population increases, then something does not work properly," said Minister Naydenov. "The problem is first related to the control and the situation is similar in many cities in the country. Municipal authorities need greater resources to perform their control activities and deal with the problem. That is why I will do everything possible Bulgarian Food Safety Agency to increase its financial resource in order to exercise control functions, too"he added .
Minister Naydenov is against causeless euthanasia of dogs. He stressed that the problem will not be solved by killing a dozen dogs. The problem is serious and our actions must be more global.
"I've done euthanasia of seriously ill animals as a veterinarian and I can tell you that the manipulation is very unpleasant," said Minister Naydenov.
